SILS is the advance minimally invasive surgical procedure in which the surgeon operates almost exclusively through a single entry point, typically the patient’s navel. Since the entire surgery is performed through the navel, it does not leave any visible scar like the traditional multi-port laparoscopic approach. It is contended that patients benefits from less post-operative pain, less blood loss, faster recovery time, fewer complications and better cosmetic results.
