| Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABG) on beating Heart is a regular feature at the Apollo Victor Hospital.
Valve replacements, Surgeries for congenital heart diseases and Peripheral Vascular Surgeries. A dedicated team of Anaesthetists, Cardiac Surgeons and Intensivist comprise the Cardiac Surgery Unit. Sarns CPB Pump, Datascope IABP Machine, Siemens Ventilators and various Syringe Pumps are the support equipment for advance Cardiac Surgeries. These equipment can support the treatment of adults and children undergoing open-heart operations. |

| This instrument measures the electric wave patterns of the heart and is an important primary diagnostic step to check for a suspected heart abnormality. |
| |
| Echocardiography uses the ultrasound technique to visualize the chambers, valves and walls of the heart. Echocardiography can detect muscle weakness from a prior heart attack or motion abnormalities. Conventional and Colour Doppler uses the doppler effect for assessing the flow of blood across various chambers of the heart. This equipment has an additional software package for tissue doppler imaging in order to quantify wall motion abnormalities. |

| Computerised Stress Test or Treadmill test is done to see how heart functions while exercising on a treadmill. Monitoring of patient’s heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, ECG and are monitored and recorded during the stress test. The stress test gives a rough estimate of the blood flow in the coronary arteries. This is a baseline test to assess the possibilities of blockages in the coronary arteries. |
| |
| The patient is made to lie comfortably and echocardiography is done. Through the infusion of medication, the heart is caused to react as if the patient is exercising. Once the targeted heart rate is achieved, simultaneous viewing of the heart image is done by echocardiography for any changes and indirectly assess the possibility of block in blood vessels of the heart. |

| State-of-the-art Siemens Catheterization Laboratory is a suite to perform Coronary Angiography, Peripheral Angiography, Angioplasties, Pacemaker Implantations and Electrophysiological studies. Digital Subtraction Angiography is important to accurately assess the blood supply to various organs of the body except the heart. Angioplasties are regularly performed for blocks in the blood vessels of the heart, brain, kidney and the limbs. This is the only facility for the entire state of Goa. |
