| It has developed and is implementing national strategy for screening of all donated blood for transfusion transmitted infections, using the most appropriate and effective assays to test for HIV 1 & 2, Hepatitis, B & C Viruses, Syphilis and Malaria. |

| Our blood bank enacts effective legislation governing the operation of blood transfusion services so that it meets the prescribed standards.
It has developed good manufacturing and laboratory practices within the blood bank to protect the health of both blood donors and recipients of blood, and has established a voluntary blood donation unit in the blood bank, which is headed by a MD Pathologist. |

| Our blood bank adopts good collecting practices including the use of SOP’s in all the respect of blood screening, blood collection and processing.Donors are bled skillfully, treated well and are given light refreshment with donor cards. |

| The staff is courteous, interested, cheerful, friendly and efficient as well as is very professional. They are trained regularly in safe blood transfusion practices including safe blood collection procedure, donor collection and donor care. |

| The blood bank personnel work with an internally generated sense of interest and community responsibility and work round the clock to promote co-operation between the blood transfusion services, health services, hospitals, religious & social organisations, industrial units and general public for creating awareness of blood transfusion and safe blood donation practices. |
