With the same fervour that Apollo Victor Hospital has been “touching lives” we are now stepping into yet another aspect of healthcare… Ophthalmology. Worldwide efforts are being made to combat blindness and at Apollo Victor Hospital, we are making our contribution towards the control of blindness with our new state-of-the-art Ophthalmology department. Our motto is “Your eyes are in the best hands”.

| Located on the 3rd Floor of the Apollo Victor Hospital, the spacious air-conditioned aesthetic out-patient department is well equipped with the best ophthalmic chair unit, ensuring comfortable seating and noise-free operation.
The Optical Shop in the lobby has an impressive array of spectacle frames and contact lenses including cosmetic contact lenses for the fashion conscious. |

Accurate IOL power calculation is crucial for a satisfactory visual outcome following cataract surgery. We have ensured this by installing an advanced A scan biometer (Echorule 2, Biomedix) and along with the keratometer, these enable rapid and precise axial length and corneal curvature measurements.

The ZEISS slit lamp biomicroscope has superb optics and excellent illumination enabling a flawless ocular examination. The CP-690 Magnon Chart Projector with computer technology provides superior projection accuracy and coupled with the hand held (portable) Nidek (Nidek AR-20) autofractometer, ensures impeccable refraction.

Our world-class operation theatre in a secluded wing of the hospital, is equipped with the ZEISS operating microscope whose excellent optics and illumination provide marvelous image quality and depth perception which are crucial for the delicate steps of eye surgery.

As a part of our endeavor to keep the risk of infection to the least, we installed an ultrasonic cleaner and a high –speed auto-sterilizer with 3-time pre-vacuum and one time after vacuum cycles to ensure the highest standards of sterilization. In addition , all the material used during surgery (starting from surgical drapes to intraocular lenses) is of the highest standard , keeping patient safety as the primary concern.

Phacoemulsification is currently the most advanced technique for cataract surgery worldwide. Our Protégé machine (Bausch and Lomb) with Venturi system ensures excellent results. We maintain the highest standards of sterilization to minimise the risk of infection and use the best materials during surgery since patient safety is of prime concern.
